Online Therapy Intensives in Windermere and throughout Florida

If you're ready to make meaningful progress but can't commit to months of weekly appointments, a therapy intensive offers an alternative. Over two or three focused hours, we can work through a specific memory, pattern, or block with the time and continuity it deserves.

I offer online intensives to adults in Windermere and across Florida, held on Saturdays. Intensives draw on EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and somatic tools, chosen based on what you need. You can book a single intensive on its own or add one alongside ongoing weekly therapy with me.

Making space for yourself in a full family calendar

The sun setting over the sea in Florida

Many Windermere adults spend their weeks caring for others: managing careers, households, children, and sometimes aging parents. Your own healing tends to land at the bottom of the list. Weekly therapy can feel like one more appointment to protect, and when something comes up, it's usually the first thing to go.

An intensive lets you plan ahead and set aside one Saturday block that belongs entirely to you. With careful preparation in a 90-minute intake, we can make the most of that time. Afterward, a follow-up session helps you integrate what came up and plan any next steps. Because it all happens online, you can arrange a quiet room at home, ask your partner to take the kids for the morning, and rest right afterward.

Therapy for Windermere residents, from home

Windermere has a small-town feel that a lot of people treasure: brick streets, the Butler Chain of Lakes, neighbors who recognize your car. That closeness is a gift, and it can also make it harder to walk into a local therapist's office without wondering who might see you in the parking lot.

Online therapy offers a quieter path. You can meet with me from your own home, a home office, or a parked car by the lake, and no one needs to know you have an appointment unless you choose to tell them. For busy parents juggling school runs to Horizon West and Dr. Phillips, or professionals commuting toward downtown Orlando and the attractions corridor, it also gives back the time that driving would take.

I'm licensed in Florida and work with Windermere adults who want trauma-informed, depth-oriented care.

How therapy intensives work

A Colorado mountain overlook under a wide sky

Intensives are typically held on Saturdays, at varying times to fit different schedules. Each session runs 2 to 3 hours depending on the work and your needs. New clients also receive a 90-minute intake session beforehand and a follow-up session one to two weeks afterward.

Before your intensive, we'll meet for a consultation to map your goals and the areas you want to address. During the intensive you'll receive my undivided attention, drawing on EMDR, IFS, cognitive behavioral strategies, mindfulness, and somatic practices as needed.

  • Trauma healing with EMDR
  • Inner child work and emotional processing with IFS
  • Building and practicing emotional regulation strategies
  • Deep self-reflection and reframing of limiting beliefs
  • Coping strategies for ongoing stress, anxiety, or grief

More client stories
“I was initially hesitant to do any therapy. My previous experiences with therapists were not so fruitful or helpful. Most of the time I could recognize that my reactions to things were illogical or based on fallacies but not why or how I could change them. I thought I'd be doomed to live a painful life and other people just had something I didn't. That every day would be worse than the previous day. But, with Mrs. Romero and EMDR/IFS things changed. I'm not saying it was easy. It was hard; but worth it. The world used to scare me and the people in it. I felt like an animal just reacting to random stimuli and not knowing why. But through therapy I was able to become more relaxed and enjoy life and what it has to offer. I could face my problems head on and actually get to the bottom of them. I'm 1000x happier than when I first started. I couldn't quite believe it myself. The past me would think that was bull; but it's the truth. I still have some things to change but I'm hopeful for the future and I actually have tools to reach that future. I used to be so hard on myself for mistakes or taking responsibility for things that weren't mine to take. EMDR/IFS helped me build compassion and patience with myself. I look forward to most days and I think there's some beauty in that.”
FAQ

Therapy Intensives in Windermere: common questions

Have a question that isn't answered here? I'm happy to talk it through in a free consultation.

In a close community, privacy is a fair concern. With telehealth there is no waiting room, no shared parking lot, and no chance of running into a neighbor at check-in. Sessions happen on a secure platform, and your records are kept confidential under federal privacy law and my professional ethics. You decide who, if anyone, knows that you are in therapy.

I work only with adults 18 and older, so I'm not the right fit for teens. That said, many of the parents I see are working on their own patterns so they can show up differently for their kids. If your child needs support, I'm happy to share ideas about what to look for in a therapist who specializes in adolescents.

I don't. I moved to Colorado in September 2024, and my practice is entirely online, serving clients in both Florida and Colorado. For Windermere clients, nothing changes about the work itself: we meet face to face on video, and you join from a private spot anywhere in Florida.

If you want more than the traditional weekly therapy experience and feel ready for deep emotional work in a condensed timeframe, an intensive may be a great fit. They're especially helpful for recovering from trauma, navigating transitions like divorce, career changes, or grief, breaking through self-limiting beliefs, and strengthening emotional regulation.

No. Some people benefit from more than one, but many clients see significant improvement after a single intensive. The decision to continue is always yours, and we'll talk about your progress and needs afterward.

Intensives are not typically covered by insurance because of their extended format. I can provide a superbill so you can check with your plan about out-of-network reimbursement, and I offer flexible payment plans.

Yes. Many people who are already in therapy book an intensive to make focused progress on a specific issue. It can complement your ongoing work.

We'll discuss your goals in the consultation and decide together whether an intensive is the right starting point. It's important that you feel comfortable, and every intensive is tailored to your experience.
