Online Trauma Therapy in Tampa and throughout Florida
You may not think of what you went through as trauma. Maybe it was 'just' a hard childhood, a relationship that slowly wore you down, or a frightening moment you've tried to put behind you. Yet your body may still react as though it's happening: tight shoulders, a racing heart, trouble sleeping, or a short fuse you don't recognize in yourself.
I offer online trauma therapy to adults throughout Tampa Bay. As a Certified EMDR therapist with training in IFS and somatic approaches, I help you work with both the memories and the physical patterns they've left behind.

Feeling safe at home when home has felt uncertain

For many Tampa Bay residents, recent years have brought real upheaval: storms that flooded neighborhoods, evacuations, repairs that dragged on, and rising costs that made home feel less secure. Even when the immediate crisis passes, the nervous system can stay braced. For people who already carried earlier trauma, these events may reawaken old feelings of helplessness or instability.
Trauma therapy helps your body learn that it's allowed to stand down. We'll start by building a sense of safety and practical tools for calming your system, then gently process the experiences that still feel unfinished, whether they're recent or decades old. Since our sessions are online, they can continue through disruption, as long as you have a private space and are somewhere in Florida, or in Colorado, when we meet.
Therapy for Tampa residents, from home
Anyone who commutes across the Howard Frankland or sits on I-275 at rush hour knows how much of a Tampa Bay day disappears into traffic. Adding a weekly drive to a therapist's office on top of that is often the thing that makes people quit before they start. With online sessions, your therapy hour is just that, an hour.
The Bay area is a mix of longtime Floridians, military families connected to MacDill, USF students and staff, healthcare workers, and people who moved here for a fresh start. Each of those lives carries its own kind of stress. I meet Tampa clients by video from wherever they have privacy, whether that's a home office in Westchase or a quiet bedroom in Riverview.
Storm seasons here have been hard in recent years. Telehealth means that if you have to evacuate within Florida, our work doesn't have to stop.

Feeling stuck in the past
Do you find yourself replaying painful memories, unable to move forward no matter how much time has passed? Trauma can leave you feeling trapped, but it doesn't have to define your present or future. Together, we can process and release the weight of those memories so you can regain control of your life.
- 02
Overwhelming anxiety and hypervigilance
Do you feel like you're always on edge, waiting for the next bad thing to happen? Trauma can wire your brain to stay in survival mode, leaving you exhausted and unable to relax. Therapy can help calm your nervous system and rebuild a sense of safety in daily life.
- 03
Difficulty trusting others
Are you struggling to let people in, fearing they might hurt or disappoint you? Trauma often teaches us to build walls for protection, but those same walls can keep out genuine connection. Through a trauma-informed approach, we can rebuild trust, starting with yourself.
- 04
Self-doubt and negative beliefs
Do you feel unworthy, broken, or not "good enough"? Trauma can leave a deep imprint on your sense of self. In therapy, we'll challenge and transform these beliefs, helping you reconnect with your inherent worth and strengths.
- 05
Unexplained emotional or physical reactions
Do sudden waves of anger, sadness, or panic seem to come out of nowhere? Does your body feel tense, restless, or heavy without an obvious reason? Trauma often shows up as unresolved emotions or sensations stored in the body. Together, we'll explore these reactions and heal both emotionally and physically.

Healing from trauma is possible, and you deserve a life where you feel safe, connected, and at peace. Let's take that first step together.
How I can help

As a Certified EMDR therapist with ongoing training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) through the trainings of Frank Anderson and Richard Schwartz, I bring a deeply integrative approach. My work weaves together EMDR, IFS, and attachment theory to help you process trauma, connect with your inner parts, and heal attachment wounds.
Sessions are collaborative and tailored to your needs, combining somatic awareness, guided imagery, and emotional processing to create a safe space for growth. Together, we'll uncover and address the root of your struggles, so you can move toward balance and self-compassion.
A nervous-system-first approach

Trauma lives in the body as much as in memory. Drawing on Polyvagal Theory and somatic therapy, we start by helping your nervous system feel safe enough to do the work. You'll learn practical regulation tools you can use between sessions, and we'll only move into processing when you have the resources to handle it.
My background includes inpatient psychiatric intake, emergency department, and NICU settings, so I understand how acute stress, medical trauma, and crisis can leave a lasting mark, even years later.
- Childhood trauma and emotional neglect
- Relationship and betrayal trauma
- PTSD and complex PTSD (C-PTSD)
- Medical trauma and hospital experiences
- The impacts of abuse, neglect, or significant life events

Trauma Therapy in Tampa: common questions
Have a question that isn't answered here? I'm happy to talk it through in a free consultation.
Often, yes. If you evacuate to somewhere else in Florida, or happen to be in Colorado, we can keep meeting by video once you have a safe, private place and a working connection. If you leave for another state, I'd need to pause our sessions until you are back, because my licenses cover Florida and Colorado only. During a storm, your safety comes first, and we'll reconnect when you're ready.
Absolutely. Because I'm online, I can work with anyone across Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, and the rest of Florida. St. Pete, Clearwater, Dunedin, and Largo are all the same distance from me: one secure video link. What matters is that you are physically in Florida during our session and that you have a private space to talk.
For many adults, it works very well. Being home can help your nervous system settle faster than sitting in an unfamiliar waiting room. EMDR, IFS, and somatic work all translate to video when the setup is thoughtful. If at any point online therapy doesn't feel like the right fit for you, I'll be honest about it and help you find another option.
Trauma therapy focuses on the emotional and physical effects of trauma using specialized approaches like EMDR, somatic therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Unlike traditional talk therapy, it works with the mind-body connection to process trauma on a deeper level.
If you're struggling with anxiety, flashbacks, difficulty trusting others, or feeling stuck despite previous therapy, trauma therapy may help you heal and move forward.
No. Sharing your story can be part of the process, but trauma therapy focuses on processing and releasing the effects of trauma without rehashing every painful detail.
I work with adults experiencing a range of trauma, including childhood trauma, relationship trauma, PTSD, medical trauma, and the impacts of neglect, abuse, or significant life events.
Trauma isn't measured by the size of the event but by its impact on you. Ongoing experiences like emotional neglect, criticism, or chronic stress can shape your nervous system as much as a single crisis. If it still affects you, it's worth addressing.
